The Repeal Hyde Art Project is a creative, community-based tool to raise awareness of and increase dialogue about the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal Medicaid dollars from covering abortion. By utilizing positive messaging, the Project declares strength and optimism in the face of injustice and allows groups to create an approachable space to discuss abortion access. Since its inception in August 2011, it has been used by organizations and student groups across the country as an educational platform. Participating is easy: you can just print a bird from the website, write a reason about why you think the Hyde Amendment should be repealed on the back, and hang the birds in a public space. Or, you could just share or print some of our graphics below.
